The LEGO Holiday Set promos have become one of the most anticipated holiday traditions for LEGO collectors, and this year LEGO will once again be bringing us good tidings and cheer with a new pair of LEGO 2013 Holiday Sets to be given out free with purchases from the LEGO Store! This time, we’ll be getting the Christmas Tree Store LEGO 40082 Holiday Set in October 2013, and then the Christmas Pickup Truck LEGO 40083 Holiday Set during Brick Friday in November 2013!
I sincerely love this set, as I hate going to mass stores like Walmart and what-not to look for Christmas trees–little Christmas Tree shops like this one are my ideal way of getting festive for the holidays, and this set captures the feeling perfectly. (Also, I have this weird urge to take the LEGO Minifigures Series 11 Yeti and stick him in this set as the salesman, but that’s just me.)
The LEGO 40082 Holiday Set 1 promo will run from October 14, 2013 to October 31, 2013, and you’ll need to purchase $99 or more in LEGO products in order to receive the free promo Holiday Christmas Tree Lot LEGO 40082 set. Since LEGO is offering Double LEGO VIP points all month in October as well, October is looking to be a great month for shopping at the LEGO Store!
The second limited-edition LEGO 2013 Holiday Set is the 40083 LEGO Christmas Tree Delivery Truck! This is another very nice set, composed of 118 pieces–that’s a lot for a free LEGO promo set! This won’t fit into my LEGO Winter Village as seamlessly as the LEGO 40082 Christmas Tree Shop, but it will have some nice synergy with that set, as LEGO Minifigures will be able to buy their trees at 40082 and then have them delivered to their homes by LEGO 40083 (and yes, I’ve already started planning on playing that scenario out over and over once I acquire the 2013 LEGO Christmas sets).
In order to obtain the 40083 LEGO 2013 Holiday Set #2, you’ll need to purchase $99 or more worth of sets during “Brick Friday”, from November 29, 2013 to December, 1 2013. Considering that the LEGO 40083 Holiday Set 2 is 100+ pieces and you’re probably going to want to buy something during LEGO’s best weekend of the year for sales, this works out to be a pretty swank deal!
I’ll update with pre-order links once both sets go up for order online, as well as adding photos and reviews once I get them myself (I never miss a holiday LEGO set!).
