Ordinarily we have to wait until the final day of a month for LEGO to post the newest LEGO Store Calendar, but in this case, the final day of the month is also the final day of 2014! Everyone wants to have a fun and carefree final day of the year, and LEGO is apparently no exception! And so, one extra day early, the February 2015 LEGO Store calendar has now been posted! There’s not a whole lot of surprises to sink our teeth into, but we do get confirmation of the rumored LEGO Driller promo–which turns out to be the free LEGO City Demolition Driller 30312 set!
Even so, February 2015 is unlikely to be anyone’s favorite month ever at the LEGO Store. There’s just one free promo (which I’ll discuss in a moment), and nothing else of note on the front of the calendar besides a discount on a LEGO Friends set and the announcement of LEGO VIP Early Access for a set that LEGO hasn’t revealed yet (and which we’re all going to pretend that we don’t already know is the humongous 76042 LEGO Marvel Helicarrier set).
There’s only one free LEGO promo set in Feb 2015: the 30312 LEGO City Demolition Driller! We actually just heard about this set for the very first time last week on a leaked list of LEGO Store 2015 exclusives, and the appearance of this set on the February 2015 LEGO Stores calendar all but confirms the validity of that leaked list.
The actual LEGO Demolition Driller polybag set is a bit underwhelming for me, but I’m not the biggest LEGO City construction fan to begin with. Regardless, with a low qualifying purchase minimum of $35, I’m sure I’ll end up with this set while it’s available from February 1-20, 2015.
The back of the LEGO Stores February 2015 calendar is particularly dull this month, as the only thing that will be of real interest for most folks is the February 2015 LEGO Mini Monthly Model Build: a space shuttle! The LEGO Space Shuttle actually looks really nice for a Mini Build, and is one that I’ll look forward to picking up online after the event (because, as always, us adult-folk aren’t welcome to build at these kid-focused events).
