MEGA Brands ended up losing the Marvel license to LEGO, but before that happened, they managed to crank out the best and final set of Marvel figures–Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 Mystery Pack Blind Bags! While the character selection wasn’t the most enticing in Marvel Mega Bloks Figures Series 1 or Series 2 (in my opinion), the Mega Bloks Series 3 Marvel figures are some of the coolest and most exciting choices MEGA Brands could have made!
This time out, we get comic book versions of the X-Men, Fantastic Four and X-Factor leaders (Cyclops, Mr. Fantastic and Havok), a very slick modern Spider-Man variant (Big-Time Stealth Spider-Man), another founding X-Man (Iceman), the X-Men’s greatest villain (Magneto), a classic Spider-Man villain (Sandman), and even a legendary cosmic-powered herald (Silver Surfer)!
I think it’s a little peculiar that MEGA Brands chose the most obscure character in the set–Havok–to be one of the most common figures that fans would find, but I’m guessing MEGA Brands thought that Havok might have a bit of star-power for the moment due to his “X-Men: First Class” movie role. Personally, I’d have made Cyclops a common pull and Havok a rare one, but that’s just me.
To me, this set was definitely the pinnacle of what MEGA Brands did with the Marvel license. I would have loved it if they’d been able to hang onto the license for just one or two more years to really see some of the rosters filled in. How amazing would it have been to have gotten a complete Marvel Mega Bloks Fantastic Four or X-Factor lineup?! Sadly, we’ll never know, but if you’re missing any of these characters and need to complete your collection, the comprehensive Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 codes list is below:

I found classic Spiderman with web shield and web whip. In fact 3 out of the original 6 packs I bought had this one in them . Code A10101MM. Is this a lucky rare or unlucky ultra common.
PS thanks for the codes. My little collection is pretty sweet. Cheers.
I’m sorry to sound silly, but I am new here and I’m trying to find some specific ones for my son. Any suggestions? thx
Well, you can search on ebay for specific ones – although they run pretty high in price. Same with Amazon. Or, you can just buy them from online retailers and leave the mystery until they’re opened. It’s a cheaper alternative, and it can be fun if you’re not picky about who you get.
I found a bunch at a KMart in my town, which leads me to believe that you can find them in the wild provided the store doesn’t necessarily get a lot of business. Mine were all marked down to $1.
