Continuing the saga of what is most assuredly the best week of my life, I had agonizingly painful facial surgery and stitches yesterday. But wait–there’s both relevancy and a happy ending to this story! See, I had the surgery done down the street from the LEGO Store, so how could I not drop in (with my bloody, bandaged face), where I found the just-released LEGO Piggy Coin Bank 40155 (which is also available for order online)!

“BAZINGA!” No, that’s not me trying to be clever or trendy–that word actually comprises the literal sum totality of my knowledge about the TV sitcom “The Big Bang Theory”. Well… at least it almost does! May 2015 turned out to be the single worst month of my entire life, so it is with much gusto that I say goodbye to May and hello to June. It’s been an excruciatingly long wait, but the third 2014 LEGO Ideas Review results have finally been announced! Unfortunately, those who were hoping for a spectacular new LEGO Ideas set based on a preexisting licensed theme are bound for disappointment, as those sets (including Minas Tirith and the Flying Dutchman) are all immediately disqualified. But there is one set that did make the cut in this review, and it’s definitely a unique one: it’s the LEGO Ideas #13 LEGO Labyrinth Marble Maze set!

After stopping at the LEGO Store and taking photos of all the new Summer 2015 Star Wars and City sets yesterday, I strolled away content with the knowledge that I was totally caught up on everything new in stores. Or at least–I was for about five minutes! When the first images of the long-rumored LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel 10247 set leaked out over the weekend, I knew it was going to be sooner rather than later that the official, grand reveal of the set would take place. And sure enough, over a month before the public release of the 10247 Ferris Wheel, LEGO has finally dropped the motherlode of hi-res photos, specs and pricing details for the hottest non-licensed set of summer 2015!

As far as the hype-o-meter goes, the licenses that are all-new to LEGO Dimensions (such as Wizard of Oz and Portal 2) are definitely blowing the roof off the meter. But there are some other new-for-2015 themes also getting the video game expansion pack treatment, and two of them were just revealed this weekend! Coming this fall: the 71205 LEGO Dimensions Jurassic World and 71206 Scooby-Doo Team Packs!

When the blurry images of the complete lineup of LEGO Dimensions Series 1 minifigures and packs leaked out, the one rumored inclusion that really made me raise an eyebrow was the LEGO Portal set.
I was genuinely skeptical that a licensed LEGO Dimensions Portal pack was real–but as it turns out, it is!
