One of the things that I really missed in this year’s LEGO Ninjago 2014 sets lineup was an elemental dragon for the individual Ninjago ninjas to fly around on (no, the spectacular Nindroid MechDragon–awesome as it is–doesn’t really count). In the olden days the team had amazing dragons like the Ninjago Lightning Dragon and Ice Dragon, but I thought that those were behind us. But in 2015, everything old is new again! The Anacondrai are returning to wreak havoc, and an old friend will be taking up the identity of the Titanium Ninjas and flying into battle atop the LEGO Ninjago Titanium Dragon 70748!

I thought that the 2014 LEGO Ninjago Rebooted theme was pretty cool with its hi-tech, futuristic take on Ninjago, but the LEGO Ninjago 2015 theme will be going back to basics with the tried-and-true formula of LEGO ninjas versus snake men! The most powerful and deadly of the Serpentine tribes–the Anacondrai–is back and bent on domination with their crazy serpent-headed aircraft. Luckily, the Ninjago team has a new recruit to help fight them off–the Ninjago Orange Ninja minifigures debuts with the LEGO Ninjago Anacondrai Copter Attack 70746 set!

Other than how to build them out of LEGO bricks, I don’t know squat about cars. No, seriously–if a bandit held a gun to my head and told me I had to change my own flat tire, I would be in serious trouble. Luckily, things aren’t quite that dire, but I do have to write about some fancy cars now with names that are foreign to me (outside of the knowledge that some of these cars were G1 Transformers), because coming in January 2015–LEGO Speed Champions car sets for brands like Ferrari and Porsche are driving in!

In 2015, the LEGO Justice League is ready to expand! Earlier I took a look at the 76026 LEGO Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas Set, which didn’t exactly blow me away. Luckily, that’s the weakest of the LEGO DC 2015 sets for this winter! And the strongest? Hands-down, it’s the LEGO DC Darkseid Invasion 76028 set, which will give us our first LEGO Darkseid, Cyborg, Hawkman, and New 52 Green Arrow minifigures!

LEGO seems to have sprung a leak (so to speak), as images of the LEGO Winter 2015 sets are now being revealed fast and furiously! Yesterday we saw all the LEGO Movie 2015 sets, and today it looks like it’s DC’s turn! The LEGO DC Super Heroes 2015 theme sets have now appeared, and while it doesn’t contain any new hero minifigures, the LEGO Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas 76026 set gives us a pair of new super-villains: LEGO Grodd and Captain Cold!

One of my personal favorite LEGO themes will be entering its third year in 2015, and LEGO has some great things planned to celebrate the event! Though the LEGO Legends of Chima theme met with a lot of harsh opposition to begin with (especially from those who felt like it was going to replace LEGO Ninjago), LEGO Chima has persevered. And LEGO has some big things planned for the third year of LEGO Legends of Chima, as the LEGO Chima 2015 sets will include the first-ever Tiger Tribe vehicle, long-demanded Tribe Minifigure Packs and the much-anticipated debut of Chima Bear Tribe Minifigures!

This is truly an event for the history books! One of the most-beloved LEGO themes of the modern era is returning in 2015, and it just so happens to be my wife’s favorite LEGO theme ever: the LEGO Bionicle 2015 sets list has now been revealed!

By this point, we all know the drill when it comes to LEGO Minifigures Series. Each series has an “official” release date. But let’s get real–when was the last time that a ton of stores all over the country (including the LEGO Stores themselves) didn’t slip and put boxes out early, leading to loads of people completing their LEGO Minifigures Series before the street date even arrives? Good for LEGO collectors–bad for LEGO street dates. That trend will continue, as the 71007 LEGO Minifigures Series 12 blind bags have now turned up in mass for sale online and in some stores!

Because I am absolutely psychotic when it comes to collecting, I stayed up and ordered the 2014 LEGO Winter Village Santa’s Workshop set online the night that it became available out of some irrational fear that every LEGO Store in my area would be sold out by the time I got there in the morning. So… now I have to wait. But since I couldn’t bear not getting to at least see the LEGO Winter Village 2014 set with my own eyes on launch day, I ended up heading to the LEGO Store anyway, where LEGO Santa’s Workshop 10245 has now been released!
