Over the weekend I saw all of the LEGO Speed Champions sets in-person–but those weren’t the only new sets I got lay my eyes upon for the very first time! My local Toys R Us had put out all of the LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron sets (except the LEGO Hulkbuster Smash, which I’ve only seen for order online so far), including a set that wasn’t at the 2015 Toy Fair: LEGO The Hydra Fortress Smash 76041 with Quicksilver and Baron Strucker minifigures!

Coming off of last week’s insanely hectic New York Toy Fair 2015/Blizzard trip, I’m backlogged on everything. In fact, I hadn’t even been out to a retail store in a whole week, which must be some kind of record for me! When it comes to the question of “What is the worst-kept secret in major upcoming LEGO sets?” over the past few years, my immediate answer is “the LEGO Marvel SHIELD Helicarrier”. News of the LEGO Avengers Helicarrier set’s impending arrival has spread like wildfire for months, and every day someone has asked me when it will appear. Well, finally I can give a different answer today: the LEGO S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier 76042 has now been revealed!!

This set wasn’t allowed to be photographed before New York Toy Fair 2015 today, and wasn’t shown at all at some events this winter. In most cases, the most exciting of a theme’s LEGO Summer 2015 sets tends to be the largest set, the most expensive set, or the set with the most minifigures. In the case of LEGO Scooby-Doo, however, it’s none of the above. In fact, the most intriguing of all the LEGO Scooby-Doo Summer 2015 sets shown today at New York Toy Fair 2015 is actually the smallest set with the least minifigures–because it’s the only set that wasn’t leaked before the event: the LEGO Scooby-Doo Mummy Museum Mystery 75900!

If you’re a LEGO DC fan, there wasn’t a whole lot to get excited about at New York Toy Fair 2015. After the healthy helping of LEGO Justice League sets we got in January to kick-start the year, there are just two LEGO DC Super Heroes Summer 2015 sets coming–and both of them are Batman-related. Luckily, one of the sets is gigantic and absolutely amazingly fun–it’s the LEGO Jokerland 76035 set… with LEGO Starfire, Beast Boy and more!
