Moving on from my discussions of the sets likely to be the most popular in the LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron theme, today I’ll be chatting about the set that I think will almost unquestionably be the least popular one of the half-dozen LEGO Marvel Age of Ultron sets coming out in April 2015. It contains no unique characters not available in any other set, and no vehicles that are likely to become iconic, but perhaps its low price will help it sell adequately anyway: it’s the LEGO Avengers Duel with Hydra 76030 set!

Not every set that LEGO releases based on a movie can contain its most popular characters or iconic vehicles/buildings, and nowhere is that more evident than in this LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron Duel with Hydra set. This set includes a missile-firing Avengers jeep and a little Hydra off-road dune buggy-neither of which being vehicles likely to become legendary with viewers.

Meanwhile, the set includes only one exclusive minifigure, and that’s of a character who’s not new to LEGO Marvel: the LEGO Hawkeye minifigure. The LEGO Hawkeye figure does have an updated print and a reversible head, but he’s still a figure many LEGO Marvel collectors already have, thus not making him the most exciting exclusive.

A LEGO Thor minifigure and a LEGO Hydra Henchman minifigure repacked from other sets will round on the 76030 Duel with Hydra. Thor and Hawkeye are probably the least-popular members of the six-person Avengers team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Hydra Henchman is unlikely to be terribly popular with army-builders, so I just can’t see this particular set being very hot at retail.

Containing 220 pieces, the Avengers Duel with Hydra LEGO 76030 set is priced at 19,99 euros (about $24.99 US). I think LEGO would probably be a lot better-served pricing this particular set at $19.99 in the United States to help sales, but it wouldn’t be an awful value even at $24.99 US (although the lower price-point is obviously the one that I’d prefer).

The 76030 LEGO Marvel Avengers Duel with Hydra set is expected to be released in April 2015, with not much likelihood of being released early due to strict Avengers 2 movie merchandise street dates.
