There’s been tons o’ excitement regardin’ t’ imminent return o’ LEGO Bionicle in 2015, but thar’s another classic LEGO theme rowin’ aft t’ retail next year as well. Captain RedBeard will sail once more in 2015, as t’ beloved LEGO Pirates theme makes its return t’ stores again! [/Pirate Speak] And because you can’t have a Pirates theme without a Pirate Ship, the Winter LEGO Pirates 2015 sets wave will be headlined by the LEGO Pirates The Brick Bounty 70413 Pirate Ship!
The flagship of the winter 2015 LEGO Pirates sets wave is, of course, a pirate ship. Though the LEGO Pirates Brick Bounty 70413 is purely classic, its name was chosen in a very modern way! The name of this set, the LEGO Brick Bounty, was actually chosen by a LEGO fan who suggested the name as part of a contest on the LEGO ReBrick social media platform. That’s pretty cool! When do I get to name a set, though?
The 2015 LEGO 70413 The Brick Bounty set includes a very respectable seven LEGO minifigures, along with a LEGO swordfish (and a rat!). Along with the latest LEGO Captain Redbeard minifigure, you also get the dashing young pirate LEGO Bo’sun Will minifigure, a LEGO Pirate Cook minifigure, another LEGO pirate minifigure, two LEGO Imperial Soldiers minifigures, and a LEGO Imperial Admiral minifigure.
The LEGO Pirates The Brick Bounty 70413 set is expected to be released officially in January 2015, as it is part of the winter LEGO Pirates 2015 sets wave. The set is composed of 745 pieces and will retail for $89.99. While that’s not the best price-per-piece ever at about 12 cents per brick, the large pirate sails are of course worth more than your standard LEGO bricks, which makes the set feel like a slightly better value.
Will your LEGO minifigures be sailing the Seven Seas this winter aboard the new LEGO Pirates Brick Bounty pirate ship, LEGO fans? Or does the classic-feeling LEGO 70413 Brick Bounty ship fail to strike a winning chord with you?
I “missed the boat” on the last Pirates sets lol!! So I am happy TLG will release these sets very soon. This ship looks amazing and of course makes for a wonderful display piece. Thanks for posting.
Was it that surprising that Pirates of the Caribbean took over Lego pirates? Lego space was gone for years in favor of Star Wars, and only recently have original space themed lines been created to co-exist alongside Star Wars. (Though it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be a follow up or replacement for Galaxy Squad, it might be back to Star Wars only for a while.)
Is it confirmed that the captain and the pirate boy are indeed remakes of Captain Roger Redbeard and Bo’Sun Will, or do they just look alike?
I didn’t like it to be honest. There’s not enough pirates aboard the ship and the design feels lazy. At least the color scheme is a highlight. I miss ropes, detailed masts and stuff, the 1990’s sets were much better in that aspect.
