OnceĀ the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game was announced for release, I knew that 2015 was going to be a huge year for the LEGO Batman (LEGO DC Super Heroes) line of sets. And as is sometimes the case (I’m batting about 70/30 lately), my prediction was right. However, LEGO has completed blown away all of my expectations–the 2015 LEGO DC Superheroes sets contain unquestionably best wave of LEGO DC Minifigures that we’ve ever gotten! The first-ever LEGO minifigures of Darkseid, Brainiac, and Supergirl–and even the return of LEGO Green Arrow–are coming our way in January 2015!
But no longer! In January 2015, LEGO begins doing right by DC! The January 2015 LEGO Batman sets are going be absolutely star-studded with almost every single one of DC Comics’ biggest names!
Although leaked confidential photos of the LEGO Batman 2015 sets have started to appear on the internet, LEGO will lay the smackdown on anyone distributing those photos of unfinished prototypes not approved for the public’s eye, so I won’t be posting any photos of the four previously-unrevealed sets here (for the moment). You can, however, see the LEGO Green Lantern vs. Sinestro set that was revealed at SDCC 2014.
The LEGO 2015 Batman/DC Superheroes sets will include the following–
- LEGO Green Lantern vs. Sinestro 76025: LEGO Green Lantern Jet, LEGO Space Batman Minifigure, LEGO Green Lantern Minifigure and LEGO Sinestro Minifigure
- LEGO Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas 76026: LEGO Wonder Woman Invisible Jet, LEGO Batman Mech Suit, LEGO Gorilla Grodd Minifigure (BigFig), LEGO Captain Cold Minifigure, LEGO Flash Minifigure, LEGO Wonder Woman Minifigure, and LEGO Batman Minifigure.
- LEGO Black Manta Deep Sea Strike 76027: LEGO Batman Submarine, LEGO Black Manta Submarine, LEGO Black Manta Minifigure, LEGO Aquaman Minifigure, LEGO Deep DiveĀ Robin Minifigure and LEGO Deep Dive Batman Minifigure
- LEGO Darkseid Invasion 76028: LEGO Darkseid Minifigure (BigFig), LEGO Green Arrow Minifigure, LEGO Hawkman Minifigure, LEGO Cyborg Minifigure, LEGO Superman Minifigure
- LEGO Brainiac Attack 76040: LEGO Brainiac Minifigure, LEGO Martian Manhunter Minifigure, LEGO Supergirl Minifigure, LEGO Superman Minifigure
In addition to previously-released characters, the January 2015 LEGO Super Heroes wave will include the first-ever LEGO minifigures of Darkseid, Gorilla Grodd, Supergirl, Cyborg, Hawman, Brainiac, Sinestro, Captain Cold and Black Manta. This is one stacked LEGO DC Superheroes wave, that’s for sure!
I’ll post an update with photos when LEGO officially allows images to be posted of the remaining four LEGO DC Superheroes 2015 sets, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have news and images sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed!
What do you think of next year’s LEGO DC Super Heroes sets revolution, LEGO fans? Any of you have haven’t collected the previous LEGO Batman sets interested in the LEGO 2015 DC Superheroes sets? And is anyone actually disappointed to see less of an emphasis on LEGO Batman himself in 2015?
The only mildly sad/annoying part is most of them are STILL forcing Batman into sets with other DC heroes. Is it to much to ask for ONE DC set based on a hero and one of their villains and NOT shoehorn Batman in somehow? I get it, Batman is their #1 character, but this is getting ridiculous. Will continue to prefer the Lego Marvel sets, although I WILL be getting that Green Lantern one, somehow.
I think these minifigs are GREAT, but i am still waiting for LEGO to release the red tornado, my ALL TIME favourite superhero.
Excited that I can finally finish my justice League properly including green arrow
I wonder why they have so much other unreleased characters like Parasite and the Reverse-Flash on the lego comic cover (I assume that picture with the Secret Society is either the back or cover of the lego comic the sets come with). It’d be awesome if they were to release another version of Captain Marvel/Shazam for those of us who couldn’t get him.
And I wonder if J’onn is going to be different?
I Heared there twere 6 sets? From a website so dose that mean a blue beetle And redtornado Vs the reach ??? Or something
Totally agree…..Batman is soooo overrated and over-saturated..
