Now that we’re officially in the last two months of 2013, LEGO has apparently flipped the secrecy switch into its “off” position and is now allowing all sorts of juicy LEGO 2014 happenings to come to light! Earlier today we got our first look at the LEGO Movie Cloud Cuckoo Palace 70803 and the LEGO Minifigures Series 12 set (based off of The LEGO Movie), and now it’s time to check out the hugest and most impressive of The LEGO Movie sets: the LEGO Lord Business’ Evil Lair 70809 set!
With LEGO planning to release 17 sets in January 2014 based off of “The LEGO Movie” (yes, seventeen), some of those sets were bound to be big ones–and thanks to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, we now know what the first one (and most likely the biggest) is: the 70809 LEGO Lord Business’ Evil Lair set! While nowhere near as crazy (or colorful) as the LEGO 70803 Cloud Cuckoo Palace set that debuted earlier today, Lord Business’ Evil Lair is definitely not your everyday, run-of-the-mill LEGO City set either!
Along with a frankly insane looking Lord Business minifigure (normally Will Ferrell is President Business–notice the distinction here), LEGO 70809 will include five other minifigures: another Emmet figure, Vitruvius, Ma Cop, Pa Cop, and master builder El Macho Wrestler. There’s also a brick-built Biznis Kitty, which pretty much confirms that Uni-Kitty is in fact evil (come on, don’t pretend you didn’t suspect Unikitty was evil the moment you saw its terrifying character design for the first time!).
As with the rest of the sets based off of “The LEGO Movie”, Lord Business’ Evil Lair 70809 is scheduled to be released in January 2014 (though I’d be astonished if online retailers like Amazon don’t start selling the set before Christmas). LEGO 70809 Lord Business’s Evil Lair will contain 738 pieces for a suggested retail price of $89.99. I’ll update when The LEGO Movie 2014 sets are revealed, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have more LEGO news, updates and photos beamed straight over to your Facebook Newsfeed.
What do you think of this expensive Lord Business’ Evil Lair LEGO Movie set, LEGO fandom? Is this a set you’re anxious to drop ninety dollars on, or are you waiting to see how this scene fits into the movie before deciding if LEGO Lord Business’ Evil Lair is a set for you?
