When grainy photos of the box for the 2015 LEGO Detective’s Office 10246 Modular Building leaked out earlier this week, I did my very best to talk about the set without actually going into any level of detail about it. Why? Because I was saving myself for the beautiful, hi-res images of the LEGO 10246 Dectective’s Office that I knew were only a few days away! Thankfully, I don’t have to exercise restraint anymore–the LEGO Detective’s Office modular building has finally been fully revealed, and now I can talk about the set freely in all its glory!
UPDATE 1/1/2015: The LEGO Detective’s Office is now available for order online!
The Detective’s Office LEGO modular building set is absolutely packed with fun details and cool features. I’ve included some of the best photos with this article, but I’ve posted a gallery of all the images of the LEGO Creator Expert Detective’s Office on our Facebook Page. I’d have to ramble on for thousands upon thousands of words to talk about them all, but some of my favorites are…
The detective LEGO Ace Brickman minifigure has a secret safe hidden behind a painting on the wall of his office! How awesome is that?! I totally need to have a secret safe installed in my office behind my comic book posters!
The Detective Ace Brickman LEGO minifigure comes with everything an ace detective needs, including a fedora hat, magnifying glass, briefcase, and a, uh… cat. He also has a number of clues to follow (which look suspiciously like candy and cookies. Hmmmm.)
One of the floors of the modular building is a slick LEGO Pool Hall, complete with a LEGO pool balls and pool cues! I’ve never had any friends into pool, so I’ve honestly never played, but I have dreamed of doing so. This won’t exactly fulfill that wish for me, but building the LEGO Pool Hall can at least help fill the void in my soul for the moment.
And hey–there’s even an overhead fan and a little dartboard on the wall! I love darts!
Ace Brickman is a lucky guy, because he doesn’t have to travel far to get his hair cut and styled–he’s got a classic LEGO Barber Shop right next door to his building!
The LEGO scissors and reflective mirror are all-new for this set, and the red-and-white striped valance and barber’s pole outside are incredibly charming. There’s no way that the LEGO Al the Barber minifigure can be the perpetrator… Is there!?
This may not be the first time that LEGO has released a pull-chain toilet, but it’s certainly the first one that I’ll own!I always love a LEGO cat, but I have no idea why that cat is coming out of the bathroom stall. Sounds suspicious if you ask me!
It just wouldn’t be a noir-style detective set without a mysterious LEGO Lady in Red, right? And if you get tired of playing detective, you can always have her stand-in with some custom LEGO The Matrix figures!
In total, the LEGO 10246 set includes six minifigures (and one suspicious cat): Ace Brickman the Detective, the Lady in Red, a female police officer, Al the Barber, a Darts Player and a Pool Player.
I don’t even know what the crime committed was, but my money is on it having occurred on this roof terrace with LEGO water tower. Could the criminal be hiding the condemning evidence in that barrel on the roof?!
Or perhaps the killer was the dart player with the frying pan in the fully-equipped kitchen…! I guess that we’ll each just have to pick up the amazing LEGO Creator Expert Detective’s Office 10246 set and solve the mystery for ourselves this winter!
The LEGO Creator Detective’s Office 10246 will be released exclusively through the online LEGO Shop and LEGO Stores in January 2015. I’ll post links to order the set on the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page as soon as it goes live for sale, so start saving your pennies now!
Is the 2015 LEGO Modular Buildings entry a hit with you, LEGO fans, or were you hoping for something different than what we’re getting with the LEGO 10246 Detective’s Office?
Wow. This is set is “way cool” or “awesome” depending on your generation. And, as you point out, a great value even at list price! I predict a quick sell out–especially by those who asked for Lego gift cards for Christmas. 🙂
DID YOU KNOW that this set was shown in a LEGO Club Magazine, 1-3 years ago!?! I wish I could show you a picture tho… It was revealed in the magazine when it shows the modular building and puts on the top “Can you find where the Caped Crusader is?” Superman is found behind the window of the building playing video games…
Rockin set ! Great review !
